The International Folk Culture Center (IFCC) is an endowment granted by the late Dr. Janice Mendelson to the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University in 2005. The mission of the IFCC is to foster better international and intercultural understanding among the nations and cultures of the world and promote mental and physical fitness through the use of folk dancing and folk culture. The goals of the IFCC are to continue Dr. Mendelson’s mission through actively engaging the community in the exploration and understanding of culture and folk ways, primarily through the lens of dance.

 The IFCC is equipped with an heirloom floor ballroom, art gallery, and full kitchen all on the second floor in addition to a hard wood floor dance studio and multi-purpose classroom on the third floor. The IFCC supports an Artist in Residence Program for each Fall and Spring semester and curates dance classes, cultural classes, events, and community gatherings that have cultural significance both locally and globally.
